Mainly deeds and receipts issued to James W. Gorham, a resident of Chautauqua County, New York, who came to Madison, Wis., about the year 1850 and was owner of the old Spring Hotel, plus a few Civil War letters. There are similar papers issued to Daniel Gorham and Isaac D. Sweat.
